Course Description

3 Sessions - 9 Hours of Interactive Training

In today’s digital world, everyone can benefit from having basic computer and Internet skills.  In the IC3: Internet and Computing Core Certification 2005 Standard course from LearnKey, expert Lisa Landry delivers basic instructions in computers, operating systems, and functions of word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, and Web browser applications.  At the conclusion of this course, you will feel confident in your ability to use a computer and the Internet; you will also be prepared to pass the three Internet and Computing Core Certification, or IC3, certification exams.

 

Expert

Lisa Landry is a consultant, facilitator and trainer with more than 22 years of experience in corporate America, including 14 years at IBM. She is a certified trainer for Computer Mentors on the Move, American Institute for Managing Diversity, IBM, and Ball State University. Landry holds a Master's Degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and has completed work towards a Ph.D. in Management at Walden University. She has designed and conducted training for numerous organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, the California Lottery, and the Northeast Area US Postal Service.

 

Certification Exam

The IC³ training and certification program covers a broad range of computing knowledge and skills that proves competency in Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online. Individuals seeking IC³ certification are required to take and pass all three IC³ exams.

Exams Offered Through the Curriculum

Labs: Each Lab demonstrates the procedures learned in the Training Session and allows you to perform the tasks yourself. If you make an incorrect move, the challenge banner appears, giving you the option to try again.

Testing Session: A Pre-Test and Post-Test are available to help you determine your goals and map your progress. These Testing Sessions determine your proficiency with the software application being taught. Testing formats include Simulations, True and False, Fill-in-the-Blank, Multiple Choice, and Keyboard Shortcuts. After each Testing Session, you can generate a performance-based progress report. You'll have immediate feedback to pinpoint your specific strengths and weaknesses.
